In addition, West Maui is easily accessible to other areas of the island, so day trips are another option for adding to the itinerary.

Some of Maui’s best beaches are located on the west side of the island, making it a good place to focus on when planning your beach vacation. Beaches such as Ka’anapali have actually earned accolades as the top in the country, so this 3-mile stretch of sand is a must-see. Swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and stand up paddle boarding are just a few of the activities that are readily available along Ka’anapali Beach. And you won’t want to miss the nightly cliff diving ceremony that occurs along the beach’s north end! Honolua Bay is another top-ranked Maui beach located along the western shore. The Villa in Kapalua was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Multiple ceiling fans + a working ac unit kept the place cool and airy. If you’re like me, this is a MUST. Plenty of towels, with some for the beach was a nice bonus. Multiple well maintained pools were nearby, less than a 4 minute walk, we used these liberally. Very happy with our stay here. The only thing to know, be ready to drive a good distance for more affordable food + groceries as most shops around the area can be a bit pricey.
